Danville Addition and Kitchen (cont. [3])
- Winner of NARI Regional Contractor of the Year - Whole House Remodel
Family Room and Kitchen
• The family room was a big volume space with no sense of scale. It had no storage and very poor natural lighting.
• The heating system was poor and the area was always cold.
• The kitchen was small with a limited view of Mt. Diablo. It had none of the amenities one would expect in a house in this neighborhood. The traffic flow was congested and made it a difficult space in which to entertain.

Kitchen and family room before and after

Small, dated kitchen with poor traffic pattern for entertaining. |
|

Enlarged kitchen with island gives room for cook and guest. Full, unobstructed view of Mt. Diablo. |
Outdoor Living Space
• The rear of the house was very unattractive from the pool and hot tub.
• The air conditioning unit and the electrical and gas meters were major eye sores.
• The small deck outside the kitchen and the lack of access to the adjacent areas made
entertaining difficult.
Outdoor living space before and after

The cluttered look from the pool and hot tub. No access from the kitchen deck to the back yard and pool. |
